THE MAS SAINT PIERRE MILL

The oil mill at Mas Saint Pierre was establishehed during the summer 2007.
Having the mark Alfa Laval, this mill, which incorporates the latest technologiy, allows us to extract the oil in a two phase process, that is to say, withoutadding water at any stage.

The mill process is divided into trhee parts:

1° : PREPARATION OF THE OLIVES

As soon as the olives arrive from the groves in elevating stainless-steel skip they are emptied slowly and very carefilly into a purpose-made trough.

Once the olives reach the top of the moving carpet the leaves and storks are removed from the olives using a sieve which takes them to a special container.

After they have been washed in fresh water the olives are stoned using a hammer stoner.

2° : THE EXTRACTION OF THE OIL

Once the olives have been de-stoned, the resultant paste is pumped into tow mixers, each with a 1000 kilo capacity.
The two-phase decanter or separator allows for the separation of the solid matter ,the residues (pulp and stones) from the liquid element (oli and vegetable water) contained in the olives. Finaly a centrifuge separates the oil from the vegitable water.

3 ° THE STORAGE OF THE OIL

This is done in our tanks under an inert nitrogen gas so as to ensure that there is no risk of oxidization.Furthermore, the wole mill is air-conditioned to 20°C in both summer and winter so as  to ensure the optimum temperature.
CONCLUSION :
As you can see the resultant oil has no additives at all, not event water. IT'S PURE FRUIT JUICE.
